recennement

The rebound orientation in WA was terrific. That actually did a lot to undue the negative image of Rotary that I developed a firm basis for while in Taiwan... so, I may just have to say I have quite the opinion about Rotary in Taiwan. If you want to know, ask me, haha. It was great to see all the different exchange students and such. Sure, we all slept like 4 hours a night, but whatever.

The icing on the cake was meeting Jack Layton in front of the legislature in Victoria on Monday. That was really, really random. We also saw a cast member of X-men 3 at The Noodle Box. Meagan also helped show me how being an exchange student can, in some countries, be fun rather than embarassing.

Two days ago I saw "40 Year Old Virgin" with Lawrie / Olives. Plus free pizza. I love the song "Aquarius" that was performed by the cast in the movie. Fun stuff.

Yesterday I saw Paddy & Jessi for the first time in a long time. We did some serious hanging out after Jessi got off work. Paddy & I got in trouble from a large corporation for having too much harmless fun though.

Today featured an interesting social gathering at my house involving Brianna, Alleah, Brad, Alana, Sasja & Chris Ruiz. Watched "Sin City," made too many chicken burgers, played pool, etc. Brad thoughtfully set up our new stereo system for the basement, so now we have tunes. Woohoo. Also saw Emily Sager after she got off work. Alana helped her make an interesting purchase.

Tomorrow is Paddy's birthday, and then Wednesday should be filming of Devin's video. Thursday I plan on going downtown to see Barbara/ Value Village. On the weekend I plan & strongly desire to be in Victoria. But, remember, whenever you want to do stuff, just give me a call. Try to limit calls to between noon & 3 am for my cell, or 10 am - 10 pm for the house.

Party on. And rock on.

This weekend I will be out of town, in Seabeck WA. So, for Saturday, Sunday & Monday I will be pretty unavailable... rock on for now.

some pictures

Well, a picture of Long Beach:

The China Airlines stewardesses that the boys sitting beside me thought were hot:

and last but not least, Goldie drinking from the toilet bowl:

If you haven't seen our cats, feel free to drop by sometime & we can marvel at their pettable-ness. They are very friendly and the only time they bite you is if you give them subdermal injections with a big syringe. Remember to flush if you're over :p rock on

my my how time flies

(or, how I didn't post for a while, because I am lazy, tired, and nothing much has been going on)

Long Beach was fun. Pretty random, I found, as we went for like 3 hours but it took over 6 hours of driving to do it. The water was freaking cold so I basically laid on the beach not getting a sunburn the whole time; I used SPF 30 stuff I stole from a hotel in Taiwan... they wouldn't let us swim in the pool without the stupid hats so we took their poolside sunscreen, then swam in the badass tropical ocean. mmm... Bethany never came over afterwards, so no complimentary t-shirt for her.

Drum lesson was good... I am getting back into it kind of, though my stick control remains an embarassment. Lately I've started playing "Ashitaka to San" on the piano. Foo likes it, but the Db Major original key is a little much for him, so I found it in C on the 'net. I may arrange more piano / theory lessons soon, whee.

Sunday I finally saw Laura again. And got to talk in-depthish to her & Brianna, whom I'd only seen in passing at the Bailey. We drove downtown to Barbara's & she was luckily at home, then went to Value Village where I saw Zed. Hurrah. I didn't buy anything though. After that it was downtown for sugar smack / sno cones as they call them, and then a nice dinner at the old folks' home. I suck at pool/snooker on that table with the small balls.

Roy was randomly at our house before I went to the old folks' home. He told me to call Kyle afterwards, so I did. I busted a move on over there in the later evening with the big red van and we started moving him to the new house they're renting. Everything fit in one load, and we unloaded at the place, then I was like "Let's get Lawrie's stuff too, and finish today." So we headed to Lewis' house and got all of that in one go as well. I had a nice chat with Lewis & his girlfriend Katrina. His mom is pretty hippie-ish

Monday evening was BC Day BBQ at the house of our friends the Damons. Pam is now a vet with her own practise, so she makes house calls to take care of our cats, but when we visit them it is pure rollicking good time. Foo & Katelynne seemed bored, but as the designated driver I just chilled on the deck and listened to the alcohol fueled conversation of the 'dults. There was lots of fun stuff, like the boys bashing Adrienne Clarkson, Jane Fonda & some others.

Today was more boring but I guess we got a bit of stuff done. Dropped by the Meredith place, Lawrie was there, so I acquired Chris' phone #. Then when the fam went to Galaxy for "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" Olives greeted us.

As always, call me 758-9378 to do things. Brad is back tomorrow apparently. Hurrah.
